Walt Disney in Los Angeles: The Early Years

When you drive by Disney Studios on the 101, remember that it started out rather small:

When Walt Disney and his brother Roy came out to Los Angeles they stayed with their Uncle Robert in the house above on Kingswell street in Los Feliz. Their first California studio was set up in his small garage at the end of the driveway.

Their next studio space was at 4651 Kingswell Avenue. This building still stands and the space once occupied by Disney Brothers Studios is now a photocopy store.

Jeffrey Pepper at 2710 Hyperion, a Disney history site, has a great post from a few years back that  details this time period in Disney Studio history.
